Road to Roo: Day 3

Ahhhh! It’s been over a month since my vacation and I am only on Day 3! I haven’t even gotten to the festival yet! I am going to have to start posting more often to get more up-to-date on my life.

So anyways, the next stop on our vacation was Nashville. We went to Nashville the last time that we went to Bonnaroo, but we only stopped for BBQ and didn’t really do a whole lot. So this time we planned to spend the whole evening there. First we got everything settled in our hotel room after the long drive from Missouri. It was definitely a good idea to stay in a hotel room with a bed and real shower the night before Bonnaroo! While we were resting we picked a place to eat for dinner. We decided on this little, fancy steakhouse. It was extremely nice treating ourselves to a nice, romantic meal. I must add that it was super delicious, as well.

DSCF4982After dinner we headed to Broadway Street in downtown Nashville. It was crazy there! They were setting up for the CMAs, so the streets were blocked off with people setting up giant stages for the shows. Of course all the bars were playing country, so we didn’t stop in any because we didn’t want to torture ourselves on vacation. I wish I liked country because one of my favorite parts about Nashville is that there is always LIVE music in the bars, but it sucks that it’s ALL country! We stopped in a lot of the shops, though. Our favorite was definitely this candy shop that just had candy lining all the walls. They had loads of hand-dipped candies, fudge, and caramel apples that they made right in the store. There was even a little train that had tracks running all along the ceiling. It was really impressive! Although it was exhausting walking up and down Broadway a few times, I am glad that I was able to experience and enjoy the night life in Nashville. So we headed back to the hotel to get a good night’s sleep before the exhaustingly fun week that began the next day.
